How it works
- Check your phoneYour phone must support eSIM and be unlocked. Dial *#06#: if you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.
- Buy and install before you flyChoose the plan for your destination and scan the QR code you receive by email. Do it at home on Wi-Fi.
- Turn it on when you landChoose the eSIM for mobile data and turn on data roaming for this line. Your own SIM stays for calls and WhatsApp.
Why an eSIM is better for families
- Maps, taxis and translation work from the airport.
- One plan per phone: each family member stays connected.
- You know the price before you travel: no surprise bill at home.
- You can add more data from the app if you need it.
Good to know
Does the eSIM have a phone number?
Most travel eSIMs are for data only. You keep your own number for calls and WhatsApp, and you can call over WhatsApp using the eSIM data.
When does the plan start?
Usually when the eSIM first connects to a network in the destination. Check the details of the plan before you buy.
Which phones work?
Most recent iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models. The phone must not be locked to one operator.
Can I use it for several countries?
Yes, with a regional plan (for example Europe). It is often cheaper than buying one eSIM per country.
